The right Calendly alternative depends on one question: what happens to the meeting once it is booked? If the answer is "nothing, it is just a slot", Zcal does the job for free and Cal.com does it in open source. If you already have Microsoft 365, Bookings is included. If every booking must create a contact, open a deal and start a follow-up, you need a tool where the booking link is tied to a CRM, such as Atrix AI. Calendly remains the right choice when one event type is enough and everyone already knows the interface.
We book sales and client follow-up meetings every week with a team of under fifteen, and we used Calendly, Cal.com and Bookings before moving to Atrix booking links. Prices in this post were checked on each vendor's page in October 2026, unless stated otherwise.
Calendly free: what you do not get
In October 2026, Calendly's pricing page sums up the free plan in two lines: one event type, one calendar connection. Video, HubSpot, Mailchimp and Zapier integrations are unticked in the free column. In practice, as soon as you want to offer a 20-minute discovery call and a one-hour workshop, or connect your work and personal calendars, you move to Standard.
| Plan | Price per seat per month | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1 event type, 1 calendar |
| Standard | $10 | Unlimited event types, multiple calendars, integrations |
| Teams | $16 | Round robin, collective events, admin |
| Enterprise | From $15,000 a year | Minimum 50 seats, USD only |
The page shows "save 17%" and "save 20%" when switching to yearly, without giving the exact yearly amount; treat $10 and $16 as monthly prices until verified. No euro price is shown on the page we checked.
Four Calendly alternatives, by use case
| Need | Tool | Free plan | First paid plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Several links, zero budget | Zcal | Unlimited links and calendars | Pro $7 per user per month |
| Open source, own domain | Cal.com | 1 hosted user; self-hosting free | Not verified on the vendor site |
| Already on Microsoft 365 | Microsoft Bookings | Included from Business Basic | No separate price |
| Booking tied to CRM and projects | Atrix AI | No, 7-day trial with card | Builder $39 flat for 5 seats |
Zcal: the most direct free alternative
Zcal gives away what Calendly reserves for Standard: unlimited links and unlimited calendar accounts, on its Free Forever plan. Pro costs $7 per user per month and Business $12, both with a 14-day trial; SMS reminders, round robin and team features sit in the paid plans. For a freelancer or founder who wants three meeting types and two calendars without paying, it is the simplest answer. The limit: the meeting stays a slot. Nothing links it to a customer or a project.
Cal.com: the open-source option
Cal.com is the reference open-source scheduling project. Two ways to use it: the hosted version, or an install on your server with no licence. We could not load its pricing page with our tools while writing this; the third-party guides we consulted put the hosted free plan at one user with unlimited event types and the Teams plan at around $12 per user per month yearly, but check cal.com before calculating.
Cal.com suits technical teams who want their own domain, custom flows and an API. Self-hosting is free in licence, not in hours: someone has to update, back up and monitor. On the CRM side, Cal.com integrates with external tools; it contains no pipeline.
Microsoft Bookings: already included if you have Microsoft 365
Bookings is part of Microsoft 365 Business Basic and higher plans. If your company already lives in Outlook and Teams, the marginal cost is zero: you create booking pages per service, assign people, and appointments are written to Outlook calendars. We could not load Microsoft's pricing page to confirm the Business Basic price in October 2026; check it for your country and currency.
The limits: Microsoft calendars only, a rigid layout, no calendar overlay with the invitee, no advanced routing. For a firm, a clinic or a customer service team already on M365, it is more than enough. To link the meeting to a pipeline, you will need Dynamics or an integration.
Atrix AI: when the booking must feed a pipeline
Atrix AI is not a scheduling tool; it is a workspace in which the calendar is one building block among others. Public booking links sync with Google Calendar and Outlook, and when a prospect books, three things happen in the same workspace: the contact appears in the five-stage CRM, the event in the team calendar, and the follow-up can become a task in a project. The same subscription includes projects with cycles, pages with co-editing, chat, hiring, HR and an AI agent.
The limits, plainly: no free plan, the 7-day trial asks for a card; Builder costs $39 a month for 5 seats and Studio $149 for 15, which makes no sense if you only want a link; no round robin or meeting polls; prices are shown in dollars; Android is in testing. Atrix makes sense for a team of 2 to 15 that already pays for a CRM and a project tool separately.
Where the booking meets the pipeline
This is what really sets the four tools apart, beyond price:
| After the booking | Zcal | Cal.com | Bookings | Atrix AI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Event in the calendar | Yes | Yes | Yes, Outlook | Yes, Google and Outlook |
| Contact created in a CRM | Via third-party integration | Via integration | Via Dynamics or integration | Yes, in the same workspace |
| Deal opened in a pipeline | No | No | No | Yes, five stages |
| Follow-up task in a project | No | No | No | Yes |
| Monthly price for 5 people | $35 (Pro) or $0 (Free) | Not verified | Included in M365 | $39 (Builder) |
If your answer to "what happens to the meeting?" fits in the first row, free Zcal is enough. If it goes down to the fourth, integrations end up costing more than the integrated tool.
Leaving Calendly in four steps
- List your event types with duration, buffer before and after, and form questions. That is all you need to recreate.
- Connect your calendars and check that an existing event blocks the slot.
- Replace the link in your email signature, website and profiles; keep the old link live for two weeks with a note.
- Make a real booking from a phone and another email domain before cancelling.
FAQ
What are the limits of free Calendly?
One event type and one calendar connection, according to Calendly's pricing page in October 2026. Video and CRM integrations are not included. Standard, at $10 per seat per month, lifts those limits.
What is the best free alternative to Calendly?
Zcal, for its unlimited links and calendars on the free plan. Hosted Cal.com offers a free plan for one user, according to third-party guides. Microsoft Bookings is free if you already have Microsoft 365 Business Basic.
What about Cal.com?
It is the best option if you want open source, your own domain and deep customisation, and someone on the team agrees to maintain a server. Otherwise, the hosted version compares with Calendly; check its price on cal.com, which we could not load.
Which Calendly alternative creates a contact in the CRM?
Atrix AI does it without an integration, because the CRM and calendar are in the same workspace. Calendly Standard, Cal.com and Zcal go through integrations with external CRMs.
Does Microsoft Bookings work with Google Calendar?
No. Bookings writes only to Microsoft 365 calendars. For Google Calendar, look at Zcal, Cal.com or Atrix.
