How lists page, on REST and over MCP.
Streams
Lists that grow over time — the feed, notifications, messages, product updates — page backwards. Pass the timestamp (or for messages, the id) of the oldest item you hold as before, and an optional limit.

Work, customers and other lists are filtered on the server and capped. Narrow them with the query parameters each endpoint documents rather than fetching everything and filtering yourself.
MCP tools
List tools take limit and cursor, and return next_cursor. Pass it back to get the next page;null means there is no more.
