The best Claude connectors for a small team are the ones that cover the five jobs a team actually asks an assistant to do: read the calendar (Google Calendar, Microsoft 365), find the doc (Google Drive, Notion), update the task (Linear, Asana, monday.com), check the deal (HubSpot), and touch the code (GitHub, Atlassian for Jira). As of October 2026, Claude's connectors directory lists 1,023 connectors, every plan including Free shows connectors as available on claude.com/pricing, and Team and Enterprise add admin controls over which ones an organisation can use.
We build one of the connectors on this list and use most of the others daily, so this is a working list, not a catalogue. For each pick we say what it is good for, what it cannot do, and which plan you need.
How Claude connectors work, and what each plan allows
A connector is a remote MCP server that Claude can call: you add it from the directory or by URL, authorise it with OAuth, and from then on Claude can read and, if the connector allows, write to that tool from a conversation. Connectors come in three types on the directory: web (remote servers), desktop extensions (local tools on Claude Desktop), and interactive.
Plan gating, from claude.com/pricing as of October 2026: Free ($0), Pro ($17 a month billed annually, $20 monthly), Max (from $100 a month), Team ($20 a seat billed annually, $25 monthly, with premium seats at $100) and Enterprise ($20 a seat billed annually, 20-seat minimum, plus usage) all show connectors as available in the comparison table. Team and Enterprise add "admin controls for remote and local connectors", which means an admin has to enable connectors for the organisation before anyone on those plans sees them. We could not load Claude's support article on the directory to confirm whether custom (by-URL) connectors are gated differently from directory ones, and third-party guides disagree, so check the help centre for your plan before promising a teammate a specific connector.
The directory count on claude.com/connectors was 1,023 in October 2026, across categories from productivity and sales to developer tools and healthcare. Most of those are niche. The ten below are the ones a small team will actually use.
The ten best Claude connectors by job (October 2026)
| Job | Connector | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Calendar | Google Calendar | "What is on today", find a slot, draft an invite | Writing events depends on the scopes you grant |
| Calendar and mail (Microsoft shops) | Microsoft 365 | Outlook mail, calendar, OneDrive and SharePoint in one | Listed on Pro and above; organisation admin consent |
| Docs | Google Drive | Find and read the doc, summarise the sheet | Large Drives make search slow; be specific |
| Docs and wiki | Notion | Read pages and databases, create and update pages | Database property types limit what writes are possible |
| Tasks (engineering) | Linear | Create issues, update status, list a cycle | Fine-grained team permissions follow your Linear role |
| Tasks (general) | Asana | Tasks, projects, assignees, due dates | Custom fields need to exist before Claude can set them |
| Tasks (ops) | monday.com | Boards, items, status columns | Column types vary by board; test one before relying on it |
| CRM | HubSpot | Look up a contact or deal, add a note, move a stage | Writes respect HubSpot permissions; marketing contacts cost money |
| Code | GitHub (via Claude Code and the GitHub integration) | Read repos, issues and pull requests, open PRs | Not a directory web connector in the same way; set up through Claude Code or the GitHub app |
| Code and tickets | Atlassian MCP | Jira issues and Confluence pages | Jira field schemes differ by project; expect to name the project |
Google Calendar, Gmail, Google Drive, Microsoft 365, Notion, Linear, Asana, monday.com, HubSpot and Atlassian MCP all appear by name on the directory page as of October 2026. GitHub did not appear in the visible directory listing when we checked; it is reached through Claude Code and GitHub's own integration rather than the web directory, so it is on the list with that caveat.
Calendar: Google Calendar and Microsoft 365
For a small team the calendar connector is the one that earns the subscription, because "what is on this afternoon and what do I need to read first" is the question every founder asks at 8am. Google Calendar reads events, finds free time and drafts invites. Microsoft 365 does the same for Outlook, and adds mail, OneDrive and SharePoint, which makes it the single most useful connector for a team on Microsoft. Claude's pricing page lists Microsoft 365 on Pro and above.
Limit: these connectors see what your account sees. Shared calendars you have not subscribed to are invisible.
Docs: Google Drive and Notion
Google Drive turns Claude into a search box that reads the result. "Find the contract with the Luton client and tell me the notice period" works if the contract is a Doc or PDF in a Drive you can search. Notion goes further because it can write: create a meeting note page, append to a database, update a status property. Both need you to be specific; a Drive with ten years of files returns ten years of results.
Tasks: Linear, Asana and monday.com
Pick the one you already use. Linear's connector is the cleanest for engineering teams: list the current cycle, create an issue with a label, move it to done. Asana covers general project work with assignees and due dates. monday.com covers boards whose columns you define, which is powerful and means Claude has to learn each board. The pattern that works for us: ask Claude to list before asking it to change, so you can see it found the right board.
CRM: HubSpot
HubSpot's connector reads contacts, companies and deals and can add notes and move stages, within the permissions your HubSpot user has. "Summarise what we know about this company before the call" is the use that pays. The limit is HubSpot's own: marketing contacts are billed, so a connector that creates contacts is a connector that can cost money.
Code: GitHub and Atlassian
For code, the real connector is Claude Code with the GitHub integration, which reads repositories, issues and pull requests and can open a PR; see the GitHub integration page for how a workspace can sit alongside it. Atlassian MCP connects Jira and Confluence from the directory, which matters for teams whose tickets live in Jira and whose docs live in Confluence.
Atrix: the workspace connector, and where its listing stands
Atrix is the tool we build, so this is one entry of ten and you should weigh it that way. Atrix's MCP server exposes 85 tools over OAuth 2.1: projects and issues, cycles, pages, CRM companies, contacts and deals, calendar, hiring, people, goals, time tracking and the team feed. An assistant connected to it can read a product's status, create the follow-up issue, add a note to the deal and post an update to the team, inside one workspace instead of across four connectors. Scopes are the gate: a token can never do more than the person who created it, and the workspace is production data, so start with read scopes.
On listings, honestly: Atrix is listed in the Official MCP Registry and on Glama as of October 2026. Its listing in Claude's connectors directory is under review and is not live, so today you add it as a custom connector by URL (https://atrix.dev/api/mcp) rather than from the directory. The Claude integration page walks through that, and the MCP feature page lists the tools. Limits: Atrix is for teams of 2 to 15, there is no free plan (7-day trial, card required; Builder $39 a month for 5 seats, Studio $149 for 15), and the connector reaches only what is in Atrix. It does not replace the Google, Microsoft or GitHub connectors; it replaces the tasks, docs, CRM and calendar ones if your team runs on it.
How to set up connectors for a team without regret
- Start with three. Calendar, docs, tasks. Add CRM and code when the first three are habits.
- Grant read before write. Most connectors ask for scopes at authorisation. Read-only for a week tells you what Claude gets wrong before it can act on it.
- On Team and Enterprise, have the admin enable connectors first. Nothing appears for members until that is done.
- Test with a list, then a change. "List my open issues" before "close the issue about the login bug".
- Write down which account each connector uses. Connectors act as you. A connector authorised with a personal Google account sees personal mail.
- Review quarterly. Remove connectors nobody has used. Each one is an access grant.
FAQ
What are Claude connectors?
Remote MCP servers that Claude can call from a conversation to read or change data in another tool, authorised with OAuth. They are listed in Claude's connectors directory, which had 1,023 entries as of October 2026, or added by URL as custom connectors.
Which Claude plan do I need for connectors?
As of October 2026, claude.com/pricing shows connectors as available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. Team and Enterprise add admin controls, so an organisation admin must enable them. Some connectors, such as Microsoft 365, are listed on Pro and above. Check the help centre for any gating on custom connectors.
Can Claude connectors write data, or only read?
Both, depending on the connector and the scopes you grant. Notion, Linear, Asana, HubSpot and Atrix all support writes. Treat a write-enabled connector as you would a teammate with your login.
Is there a Claude connector for Atrix?
Yes, as a custom connector by URL, as of October 2026. Atrix's MCP server is listed in the Official MCP Registry and on Glama; its Claude connectors directory listing is under review and not yet live.
Are Claude connectors the same as MCP servers?
A connector is an MCP server packaged for Claude's directory or added by URL. Any remote MCP server with OAuth can be a custom connector; the directory adds discovery and, on Team and Enterprise, admin control.
Next step
If your team wants one connector that covers tasks, docs, CRM and calendar, the developers page explains Atrix's MCP server and the scopes, and connecting Claude to project management walks through the first session step by step.
